Lessons
Lessons are based on your needs. Our emphasis is on the pleasure of riding rather than the strict regimentation of a lesson based regime. Your first ride, as a pure novice, will be to hack out into the local countryside with other riders to enable you to relax and allow us to assess your ability in relation to an on going plan of improvement.
1 hour group hack: £25.00 per person
Hack out into the local country side accompanied by fellow riders, where you will be able to enjoy the scenery from bridle paths, fields and country lanes. All riders and their horses will be under the direction and supervision of an instructor at all times.
1 hour group lesson: £25.00 per person
Join one of our group lessons and improve your riding ability in our outdoor menage under the direction of an instructor. Our lessons are ideal for beginners, intermediates and even experienced riders who wish to develop their skills.
1 hour private lesson: £40.00 per person.
One to one lessons are available by special appointment only. If you prefer privacy whilst you learn or desire specialist teaching in such disciplines as dressage, cross country and show jumping,a private lesson would be perfect for you.
All day ride: £120.00 per person
For experienced riders only, over the age of 16 with the capability and stamina to ride for up to 6 hours, we offer the opportunity to take part in one of our all day rides. You will venture far and wide into the country side, taken on one of 3 routes in the company of up to 4 other riders and an instructor. Food and drink stops are on route, where you will be able to recharge before continuing the ride of a lifetime! Our all day rides currently take place one Saturday per month. We advice you to book months in advance due to its popularity. Riders wishing to take part will need to complete a 1 hour ride in advance enabling us to assess your riding ability. A £25.00 deposit will need to be made when booking to secure your place. This will be deducted from the final amount.
Stables Management Course: £30.00 per day.
This course is available for individuals who find themselves extremely frightened of horses and as a result cannot bring themselves to mount one. The opportunity to take part in this course will allow the pupil to gain the confidence and ability to cope with a variety of horses. Hands on activities will range from grooming to stable cleaning, and the handling of horses will be a key factor. At the end of the course an individual will have been taught to accept a horse in the same way as they would a pet dog or cat and take to riding as a matter of course.
Many of our pupils at St Margaret's have gone on to become horse owners; some even keep their own horse with us as a livery.
You can pre-purchase your lesson using Our Shop.
